We invite you to join us for a Somatic Breathwork journey on Sunday, January 8th, 2023.
The theme of this month’s journey is “Rekindling a Loving Relationship with your Inner Child.”
Childhood events can affect how we think, feel and act - even now as adults. Doing inner child work allows us to help understand unhealthy patterns and dynamics that currently exist in our lives today. Gently acknowledging these patterns provides us the opportunity to work towards changing them. Some signs that your inner child may need some attention and healing may include:
You feel there’s something wrong with you
You have a deep fear of being criticized
There are parts of yourself you’re afraid to express or feel shame around
You feel guilty for saying no or taking solitude when needed
You constantly criticize yourself
You find yourself repeatedly in the same relationship dynamics
You feel responsible for other people’s emotions and well-being
You deeply fear being abandoned
You don’t trust yourself to make decisions
You are a chronic people-pleaser
You relentlessly chase the illusion of perfection
This workshop is meant to provide a safe and loving space where you can go on an inward journey to examine these buried parts of you with compassion and understanding. Building this connection will bring awareness around the needs, desires, and expressive voice of your inner child.
Somatic release allows us to reconnect our mind to the knowledge that exists in every cell of our being. The natural intelligence of our bodies holds wisdom that has the potential to create meaningful connections with the deepest parts of ourselves - including our inner child. We hope to use the modality of breathwork to assist with any of the following:
Identify some root causes of self-sabotaging behavior
Release some of the energy surrounding emotional or traumatic wounds that your body may be carrying
Provide this part of you with the love and tolerance your younger self may have felt was lacking
Give your inner child the voice it may have been deprived of in the past
Respark child-like wonder and playful discovery
Unleash a new found sense of creativity and imagination
Find compassion and love for yourself
Address unmet needs and repattern by becoming willing to be your own loving parent - building a new foundation to live by.
What is somatic breathwork?
Deep, connected, conscious breathing allows us to enter heightened states of sensory awareness to experience healing. By interrupting our autonomic nervous system patterns, we can discharge stored tension and release what's no longer serving us.
Breathwork can help you:
Pinpoint and clear out existing stress
Discover and attend to emotional wounds
Identify stored trauma in the body
Give permission to suppressed emotions
Return to a state of authentic self
Access altered states of consciousness
Re-regulate the nervous system
Reconnect to our Soma
Reprogram belief systems
Soften and surrender to safety, love and connection to the self and others
Remember - While breathwork is about releasing, it’s also about bringing something new back in. Just as we will face and work through wounds, fears, trauma, etc., we will also cultivate safety, joy, serenity and inspiration. This practice will give us the opportunity to clear space needed to be able to embody all that the spirit of life has in store for us.
Our trauma-informed facilitators will be there to hold a safe space and fully support you throughout this experience. Part of the beauty of this modality is accessing healing in the presence of an empathetic witness.
